we are a generation of playboys and playgirls.
we are told we can have the world. from our very first breaths, we are told we can be whatever we want to be and do whatever we want to do.
we are increasingly interconnected. we are increasingly bombarded with information, images, conflict. we are more aware of the world around us and consequently shoulder more of the burden. some of us turn inward, sheltering themselves with movies, sitcoms, trivialities in lifebut the majority of us cannot ignore the suffering, the strife in the world. we cannot turn a blind eye.
like many generations before us, we feel as if we are approaching the edge of a major development in the world. we believe that it is possible that within our lifetime, the world will change dramatically and we might be the reason it does. then again, it might happen in spite of us. in truth, we are a generation that will lead the way into a completely different world.
we live in a world of opportunity and burden. we have yet to learn how to we fit into a constantly changing world. we have the world at our fingertips and no way to grasp it.
